Unique Decoupage Ideas

We have previously stated that decoupage can be applied on wooden objects, boxes, glasses, plastic objects and even on rocks. I have been wondering about the extreme examples of this technique for some time and I have gathered some ideas for you.

1stDesign is an Etsy seller and she is selling decoupaged bags and purses. I would not realize that they were decoupaged if she did not mention that on her page. She has really made a good job!  

One of the most common results I found was decoupaging candles. I have used the best example (for me) here. Loved the images so much. 

 Jones Design Company tells their story of decoupaging light switch plates to make them in conformity with the new wall colors. She has a clear tutorial on how to decoupage those switch plates. The result is awesome.

Decoupage on beads sounds too difficult to me however, here it can be clearly seen that it is not difficult at all. Yet, it is easier than making polymer clay beads. Definitely worth to try.

This is one of the projects that I loved the most in this post. A regular basket was painted and decoupaged to be a wine basket. I loved the images and the color. It is elegant. Here is the resource of the image.

Easter eggs are decorated by many techniques and decoupage would inevitable be one of them. Easy, fast and a highly efficient solution. See the original image here.

Shannon has made decoupage on her ballet flats by using phone book pages. How a wonderful idea. Phone books are no longer available in Turkey but I loved the idea anyway. I can use comic book pages for the same purpose. 

Here is an awesome autumn decoration from pumpkins by Catnip Studio. This might be a good idea to make immediately because we will be officially in autumn a few days. 

Popsicle sticks are being used in many DIY projects but this is one of the most creative ones I have seen so far. Suzy's Sitcom has a clear tutorial to make these bracelets. They have been basically curved first and then applied decoupage on. 

Hertelden-Everything is a Turkish blogger and she is a grandmother. She decoupaged these cabinet handles for her newcoming grandchild. They are too cute and so easy to make. A unique idea.

I could not finish this post without adding an idea on the seashells. You all know now that I am addicted to seashells and I love everything about them. But honestly, I have never thought about decoupaging them. but another Turkish blogger HobiVakti did. And she did a really great job. Look how beautiful they look. She also decoupaged some soaps on the left side of the picture which is quiet common in Turkey. 

I have tried to outline a few uncommon ideas of decoupage for you. It is quite obvious that there is no limit for the creative minds. You, too, can use decoupage technique to add some new elements in your home decoration, to renew your old purse, to give a new look to you shoes or anything else. Just use your imagination.
