Online Resources for Basic Embroidery Stitches

I have previously promised that I was going to cover the basic embroidery stitches on real patterns in this post. However the Turkish version of this post is so basic that it is even too simple for the beginners. But I had to do it because there are not any online resources teaching how to embroider in Turkish.

Besides, there are such amazing resources on the internet for the beginners in embroidery that I am not even qualified to compete with them. Therefore, I will continue sharing some more resources for everything on embroidery.

I have already shared two of them here which were Wild Olive and Mary Corbet's Needle'n Thread. They also provide wonderful free embroidery patterns.  Let me give you a few examples from Wild Olive first. She has free patterns for all these projects:

And these are from Mary Corbet's Needle'n Thread.

Another wonderful resource for the beginners and for even the advanced embroidery lovers is Sarah's Hand Embroidery Tutorials. Sarah has separately explained and described about 200 stitches with wonderful figures. She deserves an award.

Lastly, here is a free flower embroidery motif for you to start with. I would suggest to try this motif after you work out most of the basic stitches. I have found the motif here.

I will try this embroidery motif myself very soon. When I did, I will share with you how I stitched the pattern and which stitch types I have used. I assume it would be useful for man beginners.

Hope you could find yourself some helpful information on this post. Until I finish the basic embroidery stitches lessons in my blog in Turkish, my posts here in English will be on more resources, patterns, motifs and ideas on hand embroidery.

Love,
