Upcycling Plastic Bottles to Packages and Boxes

Hey,

I have been very much interested in the recycling and upcycling ideas for the last year. The reason for this interest is my new understanding of shopping. I am trying to buy only the basic needs because I believe consuming more than what we actually need is a new type of exploiting people and making us modern slaves.

Think about the things you spend your money every month. Take 5 minutes to think how much of them you really need? Do you really need 40 pairs of shoes or 15 different models of jeans? No, I am not exaggerating. I do have friends which own up to 30 to 40 pairs of shoes. They do not see any problem on buying all the colors of the same t-shirt. Consumption is a manipulated trend and I have never been trapped such a trend.

On the contrary, I am always trying to use everything I own as long as possible. I have 10 years old t-shirts in my closet and a 7 years old sports shoes. I never see any harm in telling this to everyone in my life. I also try to recycle and upcycle everyting at home for the sake of environment. For example, I use empty rolls of toilet papers for many diy projects. I am not buying garbage bags, instead I use plastic bags I have been given in the supermarkets (unfortunately we still use plastic bags in Turkey but at least they are environment friendly).

Having all said, I am happy to share a great upcycling idea by veroicono. She upcycled the plastic bottles into packages and boxes. Here are three awesome examples:

They seem easy to make but trust me, it is not easy to work with plastic bottles. I have tried the last one and failed perfectly. Yet, I did not give up. I will try again. Just waiting for another bottle to empty.

Do you have similar upcycling ideas for plastic bottles to share?

Love,
