Upcycling Shoe Boxes

Hey!

You know now that I love recycling and upcycling so much. If you get used to the idea of upcycling, you will be amazed to see how many different items or trashes you have at home to upcycle or recycle. I will try to focus on different objects at a time. Let me start with my number one: shoe boxes.

The reason I love these boxes so much is they differ in sizes and they are easy to work with. I have plenty of spare shoe boxes waiting to be upcycled. I just can't decide which of these wonderful ideas to try.

1. Stencilled Wall Art

This idea below for example, is wonderful for decorating your empty walls. They will change the look of the place you hang them completely.

As you see from the pictures, they are made by diyinspired and they are very well done. You just need some paint and a few stencils. Please take a visit to her blog and say hi for me too.

2. Cable Organizer

The second one is an idea to make your life easier. Have you counted how many different charging or USB cables you have? I have about 10. And they are all laying in a drawer unorganized. When I saw this idea, I said howcome I could not think of this before? It is really a very simple idea. This is what I am talking about:

Unfortunately, I could not find the original source for this idea. Therefore I am not able to give credit to the owner of the idea. Whoever it is, may the God bless him/her. By the way, you probably realized that you will need empty toiler paper rolls for this project which I also have plenty at home. I am afraid that I may sound like living in a trash home. I do not know if you have this term in your culture but here in Turkey, there are some houses called trash homes which are full of all kinds of trashes. When these kinds of homes are identified by the city hall, they immediately get cleaned bu the authorities. I need to be more careful :)

3. Fabric Panels, Shadow Frames and Shelves

The third one is three-in-one idea. This beautiful lady provides a great tutorial on each of the ideas and I love all of them.

Fabric panels, shadow frames and shelves are the ideas she outlined. I must say that I love the shadow frame idea the best. I would not cover the boxes with maps though. Some pastel coloured or textured papers would be much more beautiful. As I said, she has a great tutorial on each of the project with detailed pictures. So please visit her page to see the details.

4. Picnic Basket

This one is really cute. I would never think of making a picnic basket from a shoe box. It is very clever.

I found this wonderful idea here. There is a clear tutorial showing all the details. So I would advice to go and check how to do it. You may use them for the beach as well.

5. Rope shoe box 

Idea by The Gilded Hare. This may be great for organizing the bathrooms. I just imagined how would it look like with some seashells on it. I will definitely try this.

6. Wall hangings 

Idea by Rugs and Blinds. There is no tutorial for this one but we all might guess how to do them. Why not try?

7. Sweater Covered Organizing Bin 

Idea by Organized31. This one is also super easy and clever. There is one thing though. My sweaters are too big for these boxes :) I can cover three boxes at a time :)
